Key finding: Vietnam apparel tariffs are the dominant research topic in the current period — accounting for the most query variants and highest search engagement. This is driven by IEEPA tariff uncertainty following April 2025 "Liberation Day" announcements. US apparel importers are urgently seeking current, accurate rate information for Vietnam-origin goods.
The second-largest cluster by impression volume is electronics imports from Canada, driven by cross-border sourcing patterns under CUSMA (the Canadian version of USMCA). Ceramics and furniture from China remain persistent high-volume topics — consistent with continued US-China trade flow despite Section 301 tariffs.
Section 2: Top Individual Queries (28-Day Window)
The 15 highest-impression search queries tracked on USTradeStack in the past 28 days. These represent the specific questions US importers are typing into search engines right now.
| # | Search Query | Impressions | Clicks | Avg Position | Status |

| 2 | "electronics importing us canada" | 80 | 0 | 23.5 | Low pos |
| 3 | "import ceramics to usa" | 31 | 0 | 25.6 | Low pos |

| 14 | "does china require export license for auto parts hs 8708" | 7 | 0 | 1.4 | Unfulfilled |
| 15 | "leading real-time tariff lookup and determination platforms" | 7 | 0 | 16.0 | Low pos |
Analysis: "Landed cost calculator" is the #1 tool-intent query, confirming strong demand for computational tools — not just static content. Importers want to run their own numbers. The dominance of position 1–5 queries with zero clicks in the Vietnam apparel cluster indicates a title-mismatch problem: Google ranks these pages highly but the page titles don't answer the specific question (current duty percentages) in the snippet.
Section 3: Unfulfilled Demand — High-Position Zero-Click Queries
These queries rank in positions 1–5 on Google but receive zero clicks. This represents unfulfilled information demand — importers are looking for specific answers that existing page titles and meta descriptions don't immediately provide. This is the highest-signal data for AEO optimization.
| Query | Avg Position | 28d Impressions | Clicks |
|---|---|---|---|
| "current us import tariffs on apparel from vietnam as of 2026" | 1.0 | 6 | 0 clicks |
| "current us import tariff rate on apparel from vietnam march 2026" | 1.2 | 6 | 0 clicks |
| "current us import tariffs on apparel from vietnam as of march 2026" | 1.2 | 5 | 0 clicks |
| "us tariffs on imports from new zealand 2026" | 1.3 | 4 | 0 clicks |
| "us import tariffs on vietnamese apparel current rate 2026" | 1.3 | 4 | 0 clicks |
| "current us import tariffs on vietnamese apparel 2026" | 1.3 | 9 | 0 clicks |
| "does china require export license for auto parts hs 8708" | 1.4 | 7 | 0 clicks |
| "current us import tariffs on apparel from vietnam 2026" | 1.7 | 7 | 0 clicks |
| "us import tariffs on apparel from vietnam current rate 2026" | 2.0 | 6 | 0 clicks |
| "us import tariffs on vietnamese apparel 2026" | 2.2 | 5 | 0 clicks |
The pattern across all 10 unfulfilled queries is consistent: importers want a specific number (current tariff rate as a percentage) visible without clicking. Queries like "current US import tariffs on apparel from Vietnam 2026" signal the user wants "X%" in the search snippet or a direct answer from an AI assistant — not a landing page.
This is a direct AEO opportunity: structured data, clear on-page rate tables, and FAQ schema with numeric answers convert these zero-click impressions into AI citations. When Perplexity or ChatGPT answers "what are Vietnam apparel tariffs in 2026?", they pull from pages that give specific answers.
Section 4: Highest-Traffic Pages (Demand by Destination)
USTradeStack pages receiving the most search impressions over 28 days. These are the content pages US importers are most likely to land on — reflecting the demand for specific trade corridor and tariff information.
| Page | 28d Impressions | Clicks | Avg Position |
|---|---|---|---|
| /tariffs/china | 705 | 1 | 7.6 |
| /products/jewelry | 652 | 0 | 7.0 |
| /import/furniture-from-china | 548 | 0 | 2.9 |
| /tariffs/india | 370 | 2 | 7.1 |
| /import/plastics-from-mexico | 367 | 0 | 3.2 |
| /tariffs/malaysia | 349 | 0 | 6.5 |
| /resources/hts-classification-guide-2026 | 334 | 1 | 8.7 |
| /tariffs/morocco | 330 | 6 | 6.1 |
China and India tariff hubs receive the most impressions by far — consistent with these being the dominant US import origin countries. Notably, the furniture-from-china import corridor page ranks at position 2.87 but has zero clicks, suggesting title optimization is needed to match the "duty cost" query intent of visitors.
Section 5: Emerging Trade Research Themes for 2026
Theme 1: Post-IEEPA Rate Uncertainty
The April 2025 IEEPA "Liberation Day" tariffs created a wave of urgent rate-lookup behavior. US importers are no longer searching for static tariff information — they want current, dated answers. Queries explicitly include "2026," "current," "as of March 2026" and similar date qualifiers. This indicates importers understand rates are volatile and want the most recent published figure.
Theme 2: Section 301 Spillover Anxiety
Searches for Section 301 specifically referencing Vietnam (e.g., "Section 301 Vietnam timber") indicate importers are conflating China-specific measures with broader tariff regimes. Section 301 applies only to China. Vietnam is not subject to Section 301 tariffs — but importer confusion on this point is generating significant search volume, creating an education opportunity.
Theme 3: Corridor-Specific Cost Modeling
Queries like "USMCA tariff rates for plastics from Mexico" and "electronics importing US Canada" show importers doing pre-sourcing analysis — calculating landed costs before committing to a supply chain decision. This is higher-intent behavior than general tariff curiosity: these importers are evaluating sourcing alternatives.
Theme 4: HTS Code Precision
The query "5407.52.0000 China tariffs" demonstrates high-sophistication users — already knowing their specific 10-digit HTS code and wanting the exact duty rate. These importers are typically in the middle of a customs filing or pricing calculation. Tool-first responses (direct HTS lookup) outperform article-format responses for this query type.
Describe your product or enter an HTS code — get full duty breakdown, Section 301 analysis, and optimization scenarios in under 60 seconds.
